OREANDA-NEWS. From June 16 2009, Russian Railways will be operating a direct carriage between Moscow and Bar in Montenegro, departing every Tuesday at 22:13 until September 15 as part of Train Number 15 Moscow - Uzhgorod – Budapest, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.

The RIZ carriage, with its three-berth compartments, will arrive in Budapest on Thursday at 11:17 and departs at 13:05 as part of Train Number 345 Prague-Belgrade to Subotica station in Serbia, where it arrives on Thursday at 16:26 before departing at 17:00 as part of Train Number 437 Subotica-Bar. The carriage will arrive in Bar on Friday at 08:49. The total journey takes 60 hours 36 minutes.

The return leg from Bar to Moscow will operate from 19 June to 18 September, departing Bar on Fridays at 18:00 as part of Train Number 436 from Bar to Subotica Station in Subotica, where it will arrive on Saturday at 07:16 before departing for Budapest at 11:36 as part of Train Number 344 Belgrade-Prague. The carriage will in arrive Budapest on Saturday at 14:54 and depart at 18:43 for Moscow as part of Train Number 16 Budapest - Uzhhorod - Moscow, arriving in the Russian capital at 09:56on Monday. Travel time is 61 hours 56 minutes.

The timetable of the new service is designed in such a way as to minimise stops at stations where the carriage is rehitched from one train to another. The longest stop of about 4 hours is in Budapest, on the Bar to Moscow leg, but this allows passengers the chance to do some sightseeing in the city.

A single ticket costs EUR 155.20 and a return ticket EUR 310.40.
