OREANDA-NEWS. On 15 June 2009 was announced, that from July 15 Kazakhstan bans to import cars that do not meet standard Euro-2.

“From 15th July 2009 it will be banned to import in Kazakhstan Russia cars older than 3 years, China cars – older than 5 years and Europe cars – older than12 years.

The fact is that from that day ecologic standard Euro-2 will be active in Kazakhstan. It regulates content of harmful substances in vehicles exhaust gas”, informed “Vremya” newspaper in the article published in Saturday issue.

The publication reminded that technical regalement “About requirements to emission of harmful substances of vehicles in Kazakhstan” was approved by the government on 29th December 2007.

Euro-2 standard will not reach the cars that are exploited in Kazakhstan at the moment. “So the park of old cars in the state will not be refilled, and the exploited cars will be used till they are fully worn out. Or till the government introduces special regulation”, said Sautbek Kapaev, the state inspector of department of the committee on technical regulation and metrology of the ministry of industry and trade of Kazakhstan in Almaty city. 

Also they will toughen the requirements for the quality of Kazakhstan petrol. But Euro-2 for petrol and diesel will be introduced only from 1st January 2010. All our oil-processing plants were warned in 2007, he said.
