OREANDA-NEWS. On 15 June 2009 was announced, that a presentation of the project on construction of the Center for Treatment of Eye Diseases, developed by specialists of Chalik Holding, was held in Ashgabat. It should be recalled that the project was earlier submitted to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and got his overall approval. The new health facility will become part of clinics administered by the department of international medical centers located in the south of the capital.

The presentation was organized by the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and held at the Scientific-Clinical Center of Eye Diseases named after S. Karanov with the participation of Hospitalia International company's director Carl Veyland. This company was charged to supply equipping for the new eye center.

According to the project, a new ophthalmologic clinic will consist of two buildings connected by a pedestrian walk. The first 6-story building will host diagnostic and therapeutic departments. The second building will accommodate an experimental base for scientific researches in the field of topical problems of modern ophthalmology, searching for new methods of treatment and diagnosis of eye diseases. The Center will also have a veterinary laboratory with a vivarium that so far exists only in the Federal State Enterprise of the Inter-branch Scientific and Technical Complex of Eye Microsurgery named after S.N. Fedorov (Russia). Specialists of the clinic will be trained at leading medical centers in Europe.

As the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reports, the new Ashgabat ophthalmologic center will be equipped with the latest technology. For example, all known types of lasers will be used for laser operations in the center. Thus, today we can say that the center will have no match in the region by its equipment.
