OREANDA-NEWS. On June 15, 2009 Northern Ore Mining and Processing Plant and Central Ore Mining and Processing Plant, which are under Metinvest Group umbrella, have launched the project on improvement of health and safety management system, which is aimed to reduce occupational injury rate, develop skills of safe work and cultivate informed attitude towards labour safety, reported the press-centre of Metinvest Group.

The project is implemented together with the world leader in the area of health and safety and environment protection, DuPont Company.

The project is designed for 7 months. Within the framework of the project the companies will audit the existing health and safety management systems, outline strategic vision of goals and objectives for the program on health and safety, develop skills of senior managers and specialists in the area of health and safety and implement the system of monitoring of project results. This is the first step on the way to high culture in health and safety, the key goal of which is to form the basis for changes and further development of the system.

This is the reason why we strive to find efficient decisions for health and safety of people. High standards of DuPont will help us master the new philosophy", stated the Honourable President of SevGOK and CGOK, Aleksandr Vilkul, at the presentation of the project.

"This is the first time we have implemented the project of such scale in Ukraine. We hope that together with SevGOK and CGOK specialists, we will use the knowledge and practice to build a new platform, which will improve the corporate industrial safety at the enterprises", stated DuPont Chief Operating Officer in the countries of Europe, Middle East and Africa, Govert Griffon.
