OREANDA-NEWS. On 2 July businessmen of Lithuanian descent working all over the world will meet in Vilnius to hold discussions in the World Lithuanian Economic Forum (WLEF) patronized by the President Valdas Adamkus. Ukio bankas, too, became supporter of this important event, reported the press-centre of Ukio bankas.

The aim of WLEF is to involve Lithuanian businessmen and experts in economics living abroad into economic life of Lithuania, as well as to strengthen their emotional ties with Lithuania and encourage them to develop business in Lithuania. The Forum will be honoured by famous experts in economics, Roger Altman, the former deputy Secretary of U.S. Treasury in the administration of President Bill Clinton, General Director of Cicero Capital James Oates, the economic analyst making his comments on economic tendencies on CNN, BBC and other TVs, among them.

“This is an important event to the whole of Lithuania that could give a positive drive to the national economy. We believe that ideas expressed and contacts initiated during the Forum will result in a long-term benefit not only to its participants but for the whole economy of the country, which is in great need of positive urges now,” Gintaras Ugianskis, chairman of Ukio bankas Board said.

WLEF is the third World Lithuanian Economic Forum where business and economic experts of Lithuanian descent of several generations are invited from all over the world. The first two assemblies took place in 1990 and 1992.

The Forum of this year will receive representatives from more than 25 countries of the world, including USA, Great Britain, Argentina, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Israel and others.
