OREANDA-NEWS. On 17 June 2009 was announced, that 17-storey homes, kindergartens and underground parking facilities are to be a substitute for some dilapidated 3-4-5-storey residential buildings in Western Biryulyovo within southern Moscow.

“Demolition of nine dwelling houses ranging from 3 to 5 storeys in height erected in the 1960s is stipulated by a layout plan of neighbourhood 3 in Western Biryulyovo township,” said prefect of Moscow’s southern administrative district, Yury Bulanov.

The layout plan has been elaborated by Moscow’s Department of Urban Development relying on the plan aimed at developing the southern district till 2020. According to it, nine homes located on Bulatnikovsky and Kharkovsky thoroughfares will be taken down.

“Five 17-storey blocks of flats with the total area of 56,900 square metres equipped with underground parking facilities, a school and 2 kindergartens are planned to be built in the neighbourhood,” Mr Bulanov added.

Besides, a centre for children’s creative work, 3 underground garages and a surface one for 2,360 vehicles are to be developed in Western Biryulyovo.
