OREANDA-NEWS. On 17 June 2009 was announced, that UTair Aviation JSC (UTair Aviation) had received five new helicopters MI-171 manufactured in Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant JSC. According to the contract, the Airline will receive 40 rotary-wing aircraft on this type by the year 2010.

Currently, UTair operates eight helicopters MI-171. The resources of the rotorcraft, with its improved performance characteristics, and the expertise of UTair staff are in demand by helicopter service customers – well-known Russian and foreign companies. Helicopters MI-171 are operated under foreign commercial contracts in Europe, and also perform works for oil and gas industry in western and Eastern Siberia.

The new UTair rotorcraft MI-171 are planned to be used in aviation works in Russia and abroad, including locations under contracts with the United Nations.
