OREANDA-NEWS. On June 18, 2009 The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) prepared the Reports Cartel Enforcement Practice 2008", that comprised materials of 70 cases initiated by the Central FAS Russia's Office and regional offices in 2008 under Articles 11 and 16 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (prohibiting competition-restrictive agreements and concerted actions), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The Reports included cases selected under the following criteria: social importance of the markets where the antimonopoly violations were committed (petrol, food products, housing and utilities services, etc.); imposing turnover fines upon the violators as a result of case processing; courts rulings in favour of antimonopoly bodies if the decision of the antimonopoly body was appealed.

The Reports were sent to all units of the Central FAS Russia's Office and regional offices as guidelines.

The Federal Antimonopoly Service will include the materials on the best anti-cartel cases in its annual report of the state of competition that it submits to the Government of the Russian Federation.

It is expected that FAS Russia will aggregate and systematize cartel enforcement practice on a yearly basis.
