OREANDA-NEWS. On 19 June 2009 was announced, that the meeting of JSC Irkutskenergo's Board of Directors was held. It considered the issues of the Company's activities. Based on the results of the meeting, the following decisions were taken:

- it was decided to terminate powers of JSC Irkutskenergo's General Director Andrey Pavlovich Konovalov at his own wish.

- it was decided to appoint Sergey Vladimirovich Emdin to the position of JSC Irkutskenergo's General Director for a two-year period.

- it was decided to terminate powers of the Management Board’s members and to elect the Management Board of Irkutsk Joint Stock Company of Energetics and Electrification (JSC Irkutskenergo) in the following membership: Sergey Vladimirovich Emdin, JSC Irkutskenergo's General Director; Vyacheslav Yurievich Stoyanov, Director for State Bodies and Public Relations of JSC Irkutskenergo; Evgeniy Anatolievich Novikov, Director for Energy Production - Chief Engineer of JSC Irkutskenergo; Boris Matveevich Rozenraukh, Adviser to General Director for Strategy; Evgeniy Gennadievich Filsh, Director for Finance and Economy.

The comment by Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC Irkutskenergo, Director of the State Energy Policy Composite Department of the Energy Industry Ministry of the Russian Federation Sergey Alekseevich Mikhailov devoted to Mr. Emdin's appointment to the position of JSC Irkutskenergo's General Director, "Representatives of the state in the JSC Irkutskenergo’s Board of Directors recommended Sergey Vladimirovich's appointment as General Director proceeding from expediency of the country's strategic actives management by the managers who are able to take accurate and quick decisions which are important for the Company and the region in conditions of the crisis. Mr. Emdin's team has already approved itself during the sector restructuring, when the Company was smoothly reformed bringing no difficulties to its consumers and providing reliable operation of the power supply system.”

Information: JSC Irkutskenergo is the largest power company in Siberia and one of the largest power companies in Russia. It includes thermal and hydroelectric power stations, and thermal networks. The installed capacity of the company’s power stations is 12.9 GW, including hydroelectric power stations (more than 9 GW). The State owns a 40 % share holding. A large share holding of the company is managed by the largest Russian independent power company EuroSibEnergo in interests of En + Group.
