OREANDA-NEWS. On June 22, 2009 SESAR Joint Undertaking signed agreements with 16 partners in the Air Traffic Management sector, reported the press-centre of EANS.

SESAR Joint Undertaking is a “Public-Private Partnership” between EU, Eurocontrol, ANS Providers and industries with the aim to harmonise the future European ATM System in order to meet the growing demands on safety, environment, capacity and reduced costs.

The key performance targets for SESAR:
Reduce the environmental impact per flight by 10 %
Enable a threefold increase in capacity while improving safety by a factor of 10
Cut ATM costs by 50 %

Estonian Air Navigation Services becomes an active partner of SESAR Joint Undertaking.

Through NORACON, a co-operation between eight ANS Providers, EANS contributes to achieve the goals set by SESAR together with five other ANS Providers (England, France, Italy, Spain and Germany). NORACON, the North European and Austrian Consortium, is led by LFV and will contribute to about 80 of the total 295 projects within SESAR Joint Undertaking.
