The Russian authorities will support Surgutneftegaz in its intention to enter management bodies of Hungarian MOL in which the Russian company acquired a 21.2% stake in March, Vice PM Igor Sechin said. Surgut purchased a 21.2% stake in MOL back in March, however, failed to participate in its AGM and sued the company.

“We hope that as a result of further work its representatives will join the management bodies of this company. We will perform such work and we need to protect our interests. We will back these efforts in every way possible”, Sechin said at an AGM of Rosneft in which he chairs the board of directors.
