OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2009. After KAMAZ Inc. and OAO State Transport Leasing Company had signed the cooperation agreement a press conference was held for journalists. Commenting on the event Igor Levitin, RF Minister of Transport, noted:

– According to Vladimir Putin’s assignment, State Transport Leasing Company (STLC) received 10 billion roubles to support our plants producing equipment for road enterprises. The first agreement signed today stipulates purchases of KAMAZ equipment for road works. The total sum of means which KAMAZ can receive according to this agreement if it fulfills a number of conditions is approximately 3-3.5 billion roubles.

The cooperation is expected to be long-term: KAMAZ will produce equipment for cleaning airdromes from snow. Such vehicles are very important for Siberia and Far East. I think that the future of road equipment is not only to clean streets: we set a task before KAMAZ to participate in development of vehicles able to execute great road-building works.

We came to an agreement that all vehicles intended for road companies will be equipped with GLONASS so long as we want to appraise working efficiency of road builders and every vehicle.

It is very important that KAMAZ is our strategic partner in after-sales service of automotive equipment.

I’d like to thank the Tatarstan Government, the KAMAZ management that such a significant document was prepared in a short period of time. This is how the real economy sector is supported!

Prime-Minister of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov supported the federal colleague:

– Under today’s conditions 3.5 billion roubles is a serious addition to those orders which KAMAZ formed. This is not a one-time action but a systemic work. Road services will form an order of equipment which they will need in prospect, and KAMAZ with its wide model range will get all resources, designers, engineers involved in its fulfillment. This will enable to produce modern road equipment which will be supported by the government of the republic.

We aim our economy at innovations in order to be competitive on the market. KAMAZ managed to re-equip production as much as possible for a short period of time. The crisis hindered though. But today our leading automotive enterprise has got practically all necessary components corresponding to the world standards: engines by Cummins Kama, gearboxes by Zahnrad Fabrik, brake systems and many others. A new cab is on the way, there is a world-class tractor.
