RTS Released Stock Market Weekly Trading Results

OREANDA-NEWS. On 22 June 2009 was announced, that over the week of June 8 – June 11, 2009, the RTS Index went down by 1.98% to reach 1,127.23 points (1,149.95 points as of June 5, 2009). Most of the negative impact on the Index dynamics was related to the falling prices for Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) (minus 8.46), ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) (minus 5.98 points) and ordinary shares of OJSC "OC "Rosneft" (ROSN) (minus 4.42 points).

The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 increased by 4.36% to reach 941.54 points (902.24 points as of June 5, 2009). Last week most economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market showed a positive trend. The largest growth was demonstrated by the industrial sector, with the RTSI – Industrial growing by 3.60%. Significant increase was registered in the power sector, with the RTSI – Electric Utilities gaining 2.02%. The largest decline was shown by the financial sector. The RTSI – Financials went down by 3.35%.

Over the last week the US dollar lost 0.17% against the RF rouble to 30.93 roubles per US dollar (30.88 as of June 5, 2009).

The total trading volume on RTS for the week June 8 – June 11, 2009 equaled USD6.9 billion (214.1 billion roubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD772.33 million.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD563.166 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD129.929 million and ordinary shares of OJSC "MMC "NORILSK NICKEL" (GMKN) with a turnover of USD33.177 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 66.80%, 15.41% and 3.94% respectively.

The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of IDGC of South, JSC (MRKY) that rose in price by 45.71% to USD0.0051, followed by ordinary shares of "VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation", (VSMO) – by 35.83% to USD81.5 and ordinary shares of TMK (TRMK) – by 33.33% to USD2.8.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of GAZ (GAZA) that fell in price by 15.61% to reach USD20.0 followed by ordinary shares of JSC "CZP" (CHZN) – by 14.16% to USD2.0 and ordinary shares of PJSC Belon (BLNG) – by 11.48% to USD0.54.
