OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2009. Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Ivan Vasiunyk has held a meeting with a delegation of business circles of China concerning drawing credit resources for preparation of objects of European Football Championship of 2012.

The Ukrainian party made a presentation of such objects and expressed concern in attraction of financial resources of Chinese business under the state guarantees.

According to the Vice Premier, the parties agreed that the following days of work of the delegation detailed negotiations between representatives of Chinese corporations and Ukrainian state structures, such as Ukrautodor, Ukrzaliznytsya, Ministry of Culture and Tourism will be held. On completion of the visit the sides will approve a plan of further cooperation.

“An ideal condition appears signing of a framework agreement between Ukraine and China within nearest time, with a list of projects in it and a scale of credit resources which Ukraine could obtain for realization of the mentioned projects,” Ivan Vasiunyk emphasized.

“It concerns readiness of Ukrainian party in 2009 already to gain credit resources for realization of only projects of construction of the road infrastructure for Euro-2012 to the tune of USD 500 million to 1 billion. A total project, we could present and have presented to the Chinese party, amounts several billion dollars. I want to reiterate that mechanisms and a scale of cooperation will be tackled during a formal meeting on the governmental level on completion of the visit,” the Vice Premier explained.

To his part, head of Chinese delegation, vice chairman of China International Contractors Association (CHINCA) Chi Changhai confirmed interest of Chinese structures in preparation of objects of Football Championship of 2012.

The head of Chinese delegation said to journalists this day has brought two extremely significant results. The first is both sides consider such cooperation as crucial and necessary. The second – both parties in a principal plan have agreed in which way they can overcome problems that could possibly emerge in the process of cooperation.

“Our Association and corporations participating in the negotiations are keen on investing into various infrastructure objects – construction of roads, energy objects, creating of a transport network and its enlargement, building of oil-gas complexes, so it is a huge circle of issues. But these must be capital infrastructure objects,” Chi Changhai underlined.

The delegation of business circles of the People’s Republic of China will be working in Ukraine till June 24. The Vice Prime Minister expects within nearest several months the Ukrainian party will succeed in reaching understandings with the Chinese party concerning concrete projects which could be realized at the account of credit resources of China.
