OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2009. Ukraine is interested in export of electrical energy to Poland. The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and International Integration Hryhoriy Nemyria informed during a joint with Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economics of Poland Waldemar Pawlak media conference following the third sitting of Ukraine-Poland intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.

“Ukraine has excess of electric power which it could export gaining benefit and we can establish there is a demand for these capacities of Ukraine,” Hryhoriy Nemyria stressed. He added Ukrainian and Polish companies are actively negotiating concerning supplies of Ukrainian electrical energy to Poland.

On his part, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economics of Poland Waldemar Pawlak noted effectiveness of such negotiations would depend on efficiency of national energy companies. “And the governments, on their part, will facilitate regulating the process of transportation,” Waldemar Pawlak emphasized. Moreover, he accentuated, Poland completely supports an idea of synchronization of Ukrainian and European energy systems. According to him, it will afford to Ukraine and Poland to more fruitfully cooperate in energy domain.
