OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2009. In 2009, OJSC “Surgutneftegas” plans to keep the amount of implemented social programs financing at the same level as in 2008, reported the press-centre of Surgutneftegas.

The company is engaged in residential construction activity, in work on the Company’s employees and their families health improvement, lends financial support to veterans, retired employees and people from socially disadvantaged groups.

Surgutneftegas constructs residential property in Surgutsky District, the main area of the Company’s activity. Since the beginning of the year, 255 families of employees have improved their housing conditions. In 2009, total housing construction volume will amount to 38,000 sq. meters. By 2012, according to housing development plan annual number of commissioned housing will not be less than in years 2008-2009.

When designing, the Company takes into account the needs of employees, who require improvement of their living conditions, thereby, the number of families who moved to new apartments has grown. And this plays an important role when families of young professionals are provided with housing. More than 20 young families are expected to move to new apartments in 2009.

Surgutneftegas pays a great deal of attention to workers’ health and leisure issues, seeing the health of employees as a very important part of the Company’s successful activity. The staff and retired employees of the Company, family members of oil-industry workers annually improve their health in sanatoriums of Surgutneftegas and health centers in Russian Federation and foreign countries. The main Company’s sanatoriums located on the Black Sea coast, Krasnodarsky Krai and in the city of Surgut host 83%of overall amount of people who require health recreation.

In 2008, more than 30 thousand people including almost 10 thousand children, took advantage of the Company’s health centers. Surgutneftegas spent RUR 1 bn. 260 thousand for these purposes. In 2009, Surgutneftegas intends to keep the amount of Healthcare Program financing. The Company will also continue its’ health centers modernization. In the year under review, it is planned to begin the construction of a new residential pavilion of Yuny Neftyanik resort in Krasnodarsky Krai.

Corporate social policy also includes programs on oilfields’ social welfare improvement, support for veterans, retired employees and people of privileged category, contribution to socio-economic development of regions, and popular sports development.
