OREANDA-NEWS. On 26 June 2009 was announced, that Turkmenistan is keeping sustainable economic development and stability of national currency despite the global financial crisis. This was reported yesterday by Deputy Prime Minister Tuvakmammet Japarov at a government meeting. Japarov is heading a commission to analyze the negative impact of the world financial and economic crisis on Turkmenistan's economy.

According to T. Dzhaparov, a steady growth in almost all sectors of the economy, as well as stability of the national currency, Manat, speaks above all in favor of such a conclusion.

"There is every reason to assert that the global crisis did not have a significant impact on the economic development of Turkmenistan because of pre-emptive measures that have been taken at the initiative of the head of state that are designed to prevent possible implications of crisis occurrences in the world economy for the country," the vice-premier noted.
