OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 July 2009 was announced, that unsold inventories of Belarusian industrial companies increased 46.6% in January-May to 7.265 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) as of June 1, 2009, an official with Belarus’ Statistics Ministry told.

Overstocks were at 94.9% of the average monthly production volume as of June 1, 2009, up from 53% on January 1, 2009.

In monetary terms, inventories increased 2.6% in May.

Inventories of engineering and metalworking companies increased 6.1% in January-May to 3.488 trillion rubles, of woodworking and paper industry 2.08% to 344 billion rubles, of construction materials companies increased 1.1% to 269 billion rubles, and of light industry companies 6% to 630 billion rubles.

Ferrous metal companies reported a 6.2% decrease in stocks to 227 billion rubles, fuel companies’ and food-processing companies’ inventories went down 12% to 38.3 billion rubles and 3% to 1.229 trillion rubles. Chemical and petrochemical companies’ inventories decreased 4.1% to 769 billion rubles.

In May, inventories of televisions rose 3.3% to 156,100 units, of refrigerators 17% to 247,500 units, of trucks 21.5% to 3,945 units, of tires for farm machines 44.6% to 48,000 units.

Inventories of washers went down 1.6% to 44,400 units, of sugar 22.3% to 225,400 tonnes, of cement 36.1% to 50,000 tonnes, of mineral fertilizers 40% to 5,100 tonnes, and of chemical fibers 12.8% to 11,600 tonnes.
