OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 July 2009 was announced, that Mr. Alexey Yerenichev had been appointed Managing Director of the Severstal-metiz Orel plant, effective July 1st, 2009. Sergey Tatenko, his predecessor, has decided to leave the company to take on fresh challenges outside the industry.

Oleg Veter, currently Head of the Severstal-metiz Group of Companies, highly appreciates the work done by Mr. Tatenko both in the position of Managing Director of the Orel plant and as the Project Manager of the “Industrial Centre of Orel”. In particular, Mr. Veter emphasises that during three years the team under his leadership implemented a number of large-scale projects at the Orel plant. These include: creation of the Industrial Centre, into which more than USD 39.7 million was invested; renaissance of the Production Optimisation philosophy (involving employees into the process of quality improvement), as a result of which the number of innovators and the economic effect have been increased threefold; product quality improvement (introduction of individual quality stamps among workers), which halved the number of incoming reclamations; technical upgrade of fasteners and cold-drawn production worth more than USD 10 million.

“Under the guidance of Sergey Tatenko restructuring of production assets and also social facilities was carried out, the plan on efficiency enhancement of the Orel plant was developed and successfully implemented, the fastener production equipment was modernised,” remarks Oleg Veter. “The New Managing director will have the challenge not only to follow these positive initiatives but also to develop them further, in spite of the present economic situation. I would like to thank Mr. Tatenko for the work done and wish him further success”.
