OREANDA-NEWS. July 01, 2009. As part of the bank's aim to improve its capital structure, Swedbank Forsakring (insurance company) has paid SEK 970m as dividend to Swedbank Robur. At the same time Swedbank Forsakring has received a shareholders' contribution of SEK 625m., reported the press-centre of Swedbank.

As Swedbank Forsakring is not consolidated in the financial companies group, the transaction increases Swedbank's Tier 1 capital by SEK 970m and the total capital base increases by SEK 345m. This corresponds to an increase of the Tier 1 capital ratio of about 14 bp and an increase of the total capital adequacy ratio of about 5 bp pro forma as of 31 March 2009, based on fully implemented Basel 2 rules.

The transactions do not impact the income statement.
