OREANDA-NEWS. July 6, 2009. An increase in the installed capacity of power unit #2 at Zuevskaya TPP (Vostokenergo, DTEK) from 300 to 320 MW has been approved by the Fuel and Energy Ministry of Ukraine. The reconstruction works were in progress since June 2008 to January 2009. The project cost was UAH117.2 m.

The tests carried out at the power unit confirmed that in addition to the capacity increase the reconstruction also resulted in a considerable rise of equipment reliability, and the unit maneuverability range was extended by 25 MW. The reconstruction will help to reduce the electricity production cost at Zuevskaya TPP by 1.7%, the specific consumption of standard fuel by 16 g/kWh and to increase the unit components’ operational life for a period of 15 - 25 years.

During the by-component reconstruction the works on modernization of the turbine, boiler, electric precipitator, complex switchgear, 6 kV equipment and raw coal feeder drives were performed. The project on K-300-240 turbine modernization at power unit #2 with application of new technological solutions is one of the projects to participate in this year’s Competition for the State Prize of Ukraine in the sphere of science and technology.
