OREANDA-NEWS. July 06, 2009. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) found that "Bassol" OJSC - the largest sale supplier in the Russian Federation - violated Part 1 Article 11 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (concerted actions), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The case was initiated upon a petition of "SIBUR-Holding" OJSC.

FAS Russia established that in 2008 "Bassol" OJSC had signed a contract with "Promsol" OJSC for selling the products of "Bassol" OJSC. According to the contract, "Bassol" OJSC granted to "Promsol" OJSC exclusive rights for selling all goods produced by "Bassol" OJSC in the Russian Federation and other countries during the period of contract validity. At ther same time, the sale price for the products offered by "Promsol" OJSC increased by more than 50% in comparison with the ex-works prices of "Bassol" OJSC.

The FAS Russia's Commission concluded that such actions of "Bassol" OJSC and "Promsol" OJSC resulted in restricting competition on the sale market in the Russian Federation.

In accordance with the antimonopoly legislation, FAS Russia will impose administrative fines upon "Bassol" OJSC and "Promsol" OJSC.

The decision and determination will be issued within the statutory period.
