OREANDA-NEWS. On 08 July 2009 was announced, that bakery of the Mikhailovsky mill, which is the structural unit of a major Russian grain processor PAVA, launched production of iodized bread. This product has high consumer characteristics and is ideal for healthy ratio.

Since the Altay Territory is reckoned among the regions with severe iodine deficiency, the iod-enhanced bread will be of special value for nutrition of the population. It has high preventive efficacy for thyroid gland disease, stimulates thyroid hormone synthesis and provides proper energy metabolism. Of note is its favourable impact on physical and mental development of children.

For the production, bakers use flour of high and first grades sourced from the Mikhailovsky mill. The technological process has been adjusted for proper iodine fortification and allows to keep intact all properties of this valuable microelement.

The dietary baked goods are supplied to the orphanage and schools of the Mikhailovsky district. The current output of iodized bread is about 60 loaves per day, but in future the company considers to expand production and sales, also through the local retail shops.
