OREANDA-NEWS. On 09 July 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ OAO Lidskoe Pivo brewery, based in the Grodno Region, reported a 2.8% increase in output to 1.892 million decaliters in January-May 2009, a representative in the administration of the company told.

In May, beer output rose 0.2% on the year to 444,800 decaliters.

Beer offering in plastic bottled increased 5.9% to 1.514 million decaliters, in glass bottles decreased 13.1% to 306,000 decaliters and in kegs rose 22% to 72,000 decaliters.

OAO Lidskoe Pivo accounted for 14% of the Belarusian beer output in January-May, up 1.6 percentage points on the year.

Finland’s Olvi Oyj in September 2008 acquired a 51% holding in the Belarusian brewery Lidskoe Pivo through a private placing for an estimated USD 16 million.

Olvi plc is one of Finland’s biggest beer and soft drink producers. It operates in Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
