OREANDA-NEWS. July 09, 2009. Branch of JSC “Engineering Center UES” - “Nizhegorodsky Teploelectroproject” (NizhTEP) completed design work for construction of turbo unit #4 at Vyborgskaya HEPP of JSC TGK-1, 120 MW and field supervision during the project implementation. The other day the new turbo unit was commissioned in Kalininsky District of Saint Petersburg.

Contract between NizhTEP and General Contractor for the upgrading of turbo unit by “AB-Service” company which is the official representative of ZAO “Urals Turbine Works” was concluded in 2007. Nizhegorodsky Institute prepared the working design for replacement of equipment, units and items with the expired service life, developed specifications for equipment and later implemented field supervision over the assembly and installation.

In accordance with the design, in turbo unit #4 of Vyborgskaya HEPP, there was installed a high pressure cylinder manufactured by ZAO “Urals Turbine Works” and a 123 MW turbo unit of TF-125-2UZ type manufactured by ОАО NPO “Elsib”; two unit transformers were replaced with 110/35-10 kV, 80 MVA transformers each supplied by ОАО “Electrozavod”. High pressure heaters manufactured by ОАО “TKZ “Krasny Kotelschik”, ejectors and condenser were replaced. An additional condensate pump was installed for the operation of hot water supply unit during the summer season. The sevenths section of metal clad switchgear -6kV and the tenth section of BOP switchgear -0,4 kV were replaced. Nizhegorodsky Institute prepared “lower tier” documentation for construction of turbo unit #4 automatic process control system within the framework of the upgrades.

Representatives of branch of JSC “Engineering Center UES”- “Nizhegorodsky Teploelectroproject” took part in turbo unit #4 startup ceremony at Vyborgskaya HEPP of TGK-1. It was noted that the upgrade was necessary for improvement of HEPP operation efficiency, enhancement of electric and heating capacity and improvement of reliability and quality of heat supply for housing and public utilities and industry within the existing heat supply coverage of Vyborgskaya HEPP with due regard for prospective heat demand in the area.
