OREANDA-NEWS. On 13 July 2009 JSC NC “KazMunayGas” and Rompetrol Holding SA announced forthcoming changes in the management of Rompetrol.

Recall that, as has been agreed, at the end of June of this year KMG acquired the remaining 25% of the shares in addition to 75% of TRG shares previously bought from Rompetrol Holding SA.

Prior to the closing of the transaction the former owner of the company Dinu Patriciu had been in the office of Rompetrol’s CEO. The new position of D. Patriciu was announced by the Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC “KazMunayGas” Kairgeldy Kabyldin.

- Mister Patriciu will be a member of the new Board of Directors of Rompetrol to ensure continuity of the vision of the company’s development strategy, - Kairgeldy Kabyldin commented on this decision. - Currently, Rompetrol has the full cycle for production of refined products and petrochemicals and a wide network of petrol stations. Furthermore, the company is becoming one of the main sales markets for KazMunayGas, completing KMG’s integration cycle of crude and refined products production.

Mr. Patriciu in his turn expressed his gratitude to KMG’s management.

- I believe this is the best decision for the company, its shareholders, management and employees, as the Kazakh national company has the expertise, resources and resolve to continue development of Rompetrol, - Dinu Patriciu remarked.

The new Rompetrol management has been set tasks of integrating the company into the KazMunayGas group and implementing the antirecession plan. The visit of KMG’s management took place as part of celebrating the 30th anniversary of the start-up of the Petromidia Refinery in Romania.
