OREANDA-NEWS. July 14, 2009. Boyko Borisov, the leader of Gerb party, political force that has won the last parliamentary elections in Bulgaria, will be authorized to form a new government.

In an interview to Nova Televizia TV company Borisov said: “I believe that the Belene Nuclear Power Plant must be built.”

He pointed out that the European Union had allowed Bulgaria to build the plant and it would be a national crime to miss such a chance.

Borisov said that, as soon as the government was formed, it would consider the budget and would find ways to finance the Belene NPP project. “The construction of Belene NPP must be continued,” Borisov said.

Atomstroyexport believes that, after examining the economic, technical and financial aspects of the Belene NPP project, the new cabinet of Bulgaria will support it.

The Bulgarian government will be formed on July 27 2009.
