On 15 July 2009 was announced, that President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov appointed Baymyrat Hodzhamuhammedov deputy prime minister of Turkmenistan at an expanded-format meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on July 10. Before this appointment Baymyrat Hodzhamuhammedov held the post of chairman of the "Turkmengaz" state concern.

Dovlet Mommayev was appointed acting chairman of the "Turkmengaz" state concern.

By a decree of the President of Turkmenistan, Tachberdi Taghiyev was relieved of his post of deputy prime minister of Turkmenistan in connection with his transfer to the post of director of the Seyydi oil refinery.

On the same day, the President of Turkmenistan signed a decree appointing Rozymyrat Seyitkulyev acting minister of railway transport of Turkmenistan. Rozymyrat Seyitkulyev previously occupied the post of deputy minister of railway transport.

In addition, Ashirguly Gurbangulyev, who held the position of director of the Institute of Strategic Planning and Economic Development of Turkmenistan, was appointed chairman of the State Committee for Statistics of Turkmenistan. Muhammetgeldi Atayev, who held the post of deputy minister of economy and development, was appointed the director of this institute.
