OREANDA-NEWS. On 16 July 2009 was announced, that in JSC “Far Eastern Generating Company” (JSC “FEGC”) had been effected new corporate standard on faire safety, elaborated by the specialists of the company. There for the first time are summed up and unified all requirements to protection of companies of “big” energy sector from fire hazard. Till this moment there were over 50 different discrete normative documents, which have regulated the activity in prevention of the fires in different spheres, including in energy industry of Russia.

Creating own standard, JSC “FEGC” is oriented to requirements of the federal law #123 – “Technical Regulations on fare safety requirements”, which has been effected in Russia in May of this year. The priority task for the energy company while elaborating local normative act, that is the standard, has been the decreasing of risk of appearing fires (it is objectively high on the sites of generating company) and risk of loss the reliability of power supply to the Far Easterners.

New standard of fire safety of JSC “FEGC” will radically streamline the mandatory training of personnel of the energy company in the field of fire safety. Now the energy employees will not study a lot of inter-departmental instructions and normative documents, in order to detect all “underwater stones” while operating explosive and fire hazardous sites at power stations, heating mains, at coal open pit, in office premises of the company. The answers for all the questions are now concentrated in one document.

We note, that during more than two and a half years of operation in JSC “Far Eastern Generating Company” there were reported only four cases of fire, and only two of them were rel;ated to production activity. Thanks to highly qualified actions of the staff all incidents were liquidated within half an hour period. It has managed to avoid cutting off the power supply.
