OREANDA-NEWS. On 16 July 2009 was announced, that an office building for subdivisions of Institute of the USA and Canada is to be under construction on 3-5 Bolshaya Spasskaya Street in Moscow from 2010 to 2012.

The relevant order by City Hall was signed by Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov on July 9.

According to the document, a proposition to develop the object was submitted by the Integrated Body for Urban Design Policy and Development of Moscow.

The total area of the site intended for the office building is 0.244 hectares, including the 0.03-hectare public space. The area of the structure is designed to be 5,500 square metres, including the 3,700-square-metre building above ground level.

Moscow’s Department for Capital Construction ordered by City Hall is to act as a customer for designing and building the object. The department is to hold tenders to select a client and a prime contractor of the development.

The implementation of the order is to be supervised by Moscow’s first deputy mayor for urban design policy and development, Vladimir Resin, the prefect of Moscow’s central administrative district, Aleksey Aleksandrov, and the prefect of Moscow’s western administrative district, Yury Alpatov.
