OREANDA-NEWS. July 15, 2009. The Gov’t and International Monetary Fund have corrected the joint anti-crisis program. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko announced during a press conference on the outcomes of work of IMF mission in Ukraine.

“Today the second reconsidering of the joint anti-crisis program of the Government and the IMF has come to end and it gives to Ukraine a chance to survive over the crisis with minimal losses,” Yulia Tymoshenko emphasized.

She noted from the very beginning of cooperation between Ukraine and the IMF a special bail-out program has been created which is financially supported with special tranches of IMF that makes it well-balanced.

The Premier informed the adjusted program envisages shortening of expenditures and balancing of the Budget and also balancing of Naftogaz NJSC budget: “It is the only way for Ukraine so that it had an opportunity to pass through the crisis and become stronger”.

Moreover, the Prime Minister backed positions of the head of IMF mission concerning the fact that actions of the Government in financial-economic block are adequate with the world economic situation.

Yulia Tymoshenko thanked to the head of mission of International Monetary Fund Ceyla Pazarbasioglu and the IMF Executive Board for they have built effective cooperation with Ukraine which gives chance to weather all the challenges of the global financial crunch. “Cooperation between Ukraine and IMF is a positive and effective direction of counteraction to the global financial crisis,” Yulia Tymoshenko emphasized.
