OREANDA-NEWS. On July 15, 2009 Prime Minister Andrus Ansip met with the Foreign Minister of Botswana, Mr Phandu Tombola Chaha Skeleman, and his accompanying delegation, who are on a four-day visit in Estonia. The discussion focus was mainly on the field of IT and on opportunities for developing tourism-related cooperation. At the meeting, it was also noted that regardless of the differences between the two countries and nations, there are also important joining aspects, such as the colours of the national flag, reported the Official website valitsus.ee.

“Although our nations are different, we are emotionally connected by the colours of our flags,” said Prime Minister Ansip.

The Prime Minister introduced the e-government to the guests and described other popular e-services in Estonia, such as e-Tax Board, e-school, online banking and the use of the ID-card.

Botswana has set the field of IT as its developmental priority. Botswana is a country that has successfully carried out economic reforms and has become a country with one of the most dynamic economies in Africa.

“Botswana’s openness, multi-party political system and good governance have been the country’s cornerstones of stability,” noted Prime Minister Ansip. He also expressed hope that the people of Estonia will discover for themselves this country that has such beautiful nature, where peace and stability prevail and where one could travel visa-free.
