OREANDA-NEWS. On 17 July 2009 was announced, that Russian grain processor PAVA participated in World Agriinvest Congress which took place at the Millennium Mayfair Hotel in London. The company with a strong commitment to vertical integration and sustainable farming joined the event, taking the chance to network with industry colleagues and the financial community.

The Congress was a remarkable event in terms of geographic and industrial scope, featuring reports from officials of FAO, USDA, senior-level executives of key food and agribusinesses, financial institutions. PAVA was represented by Andrey Igoshin, President of the Company; Sergey Balaenkov, Chief Financial Officer and Galina Balaenkova, Head of Investor Relations and International Business Development.

“Our presentation was scheduled for the 1st day, and it was an exciting opportunity to share opinions on benefits and challenges of investing in agricultural land, and its untapped potential in Russia”, says Galina Balaenkova. “We certainly found the Congress very beneficial in that it provided face-to-face meetings with both existing and new contacts, aiding us on the road to the chosen strategy”.

Participants of the event discussed outlook on grain and food markets, rising food costs due to increasing concerns, confidence of returns in the agrisector. “The Group’s strategic targets are vertical integration and continued internationalization”, Ms Balaenkova continues. “It coincides with major trends in the industry, and judging from the offers we receive, we’ll be able to maintain quick development pace”.
