OREANDA-NEWS. On 17 July 2009 was announced a record trading activity on FORTS, RTS’s derivatives section.

By the end of the trading session the trading volume in the USD futures contract exceeded USD353,286,427.

The previous record was set on September 17, 2008 when the trading volume in the USD futures contract totalled USD349,429,464.

The EUR/RUR futures contract also saw a record trading volume. By the end of the trading session the trading volume in this instrument reached 42,170 contracts with a value of USD60,812,809.

The previous record was registered on May 15, 2009 with the EUR/RUR futures reaching 10,258 volume or USD14,481,717 in money terms.

FORTS, the derivatives market of RTS, is the leading trading venue for futures and options in Russia. Trading on FORTS started in September 2001. At present FORTS has the widest range of instruments in Russia.
