OREANDA-NEWS. July 17, 2009. The Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Elimination of Consequences of Chornobyl Disaster upholds the Bill on Amendments and Supplements to the Law "On Safety and Quality of Foodstuffs" (re Freedom of Foodstuffs Consumption).

The Bill (Reg. No.4644) introduces amendments to the effective Law appertaining to certain aspects of "safety of foodstuffs" and "freedom of foodstuffs consumption". 
 
Thus, the Law is supplemented with a new clause concerning freedom of foodstuffs consumption. Pursuant to the Bill, an individual has the right to adopt decisions at will concerning possibility of consuming certain foodstuffs.
 
The Bill also prohibits production and distribution of foodstuffs with the components or substances that exert extra influence or become addictive.
