OREANDA-NEWS. On 21 July 2009 was announced, that Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company’s Board of Directors held its first meeting in a new composition. Leonid Komm, United Aircraft Corporation’s Vice-President, Programme and Development management, was elected its Chairman. One of the decisions reached at this meeting was an appointment of Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk as SCAC’s President.

A change in company’s managerial body was caused by Victor Soubbotin’s – who formerly held this position of SCAC’s President - new appointment as Deputy Director General for Commercial Aircraft Programmes at the Sukhoi Company. In his new position Victor Soubbotin will keep coordinating all kinds of efforts related to the Sukhoi Superjet 100 programme.

As a part of the Sukhoi Company strategy aimed at building global leadership in commercial aviation market by 2020, its executives decided to establish a managing unit within the current Company’s structure to coordinate Sukhoi’s commercial aviation projects.

Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk up until now was holding the position of Senior Vice-president – Technical Director of the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company being in charge of all production sites involved in the Sukhoi Superjet 100 project.

SCAC’s shareholders – Sukhoi Company and Italian Alenia Aeronautica – share the confidence that at this stage when test aircraft batch production is nearing completion and ramp-up production is being sped up, an appointment of a top-manager with massive experience in production-related aspects of the project to the position of Company’s President will become one of the key factors contributing to the success of the Programme.

“Sukhoi Superjet 100 is having a good pace in the flight certification test campaign, which keeps delivering positive results. Today our main task is to secure faultless run of the entire production chain, covering both production sites and all project participants. Now we aim to guarantee a very smooth entry of the aircraft into service and lead the ramp-up production run to the designed pace”, notes Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk, commenting upon his appointment.

Prior to joining the company in July 2006, Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk worked for Sukhoi Company, in which - since 1999 - he was responsible for design and implementation of the work strategy with the enterprises, being part of the Holding, as well as for corporate affairs. Together with that he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Novosibirsk Aviation Production Complex (till 2007) and a member of the Board of Directors of TANTK named after Beriev (till 2008). In 1984 – 1992 Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk worked at the Aviation Industry Ministry. The new Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company’s President began his carrier at Sukhoi Design Bureau in 1972 as an engineer.
