OREANDA-NEWS. July 22, 2009. The presentation of the object after extensive upgradingта, attended General Director Damir Safiullin, his Deputy for investments Edvard Abdullazyanov and managers of the services. The explanations regarding works were given by the first persons of Kazan grids and general contractor JSC "Srednevolzhskselelektrosetstroy".

Substation 35/10 kV "Severnaya" was built in 1966 as a village substation with the outdoor control gear 10 kV. The feeding was from ORU-35 kV of Kazan CHP-2. In 1972 the transformers were reconstructed with increasing the capacity till 16 mVА. By 2000 as a result of active housing construction in the neighboring community according to "Social Mortgage" program and respective growth of the loads dictated the urgent necessity to increase the transformer capacities at the substation. The loading of the both transformers by this time at the substation increased to 80%. The overload of one of them during repair starting reached the intolerable values.

In 2008 began reconstruction of SS "Severnaya" that is one of the stages of transition to 110 kV substation, fed from the outdoor switchgear (ORU) 35 kV of Kazan CHP-2.

SS "Severnaya" after the construction is fed by Kazan CHP-3 through the newly built cable-aerial line 110 kV of length over 10 km. Commissioning of this KVL-110 kV provided additional supply of the power from the CHP.

The installation of the power transformers 2х25 MVА allowed do away with the deficiency of capacity in Aviastroitelny district of Kazan with the feeding from SS "Severnaya". On the transformers for the first time have been utilized the hermetic rubber packing of the new modification which extends their life.
