OREANDA-NEWS. July 21, 2009. Active interaction and a constructive dialogue between the State Control Committee (SCC) of Belarus and the Accounts Chamber of Russia have built a strong foundation for expanding and deepening the mutually beneficial cooperation between Belarus and Russia, said President Alexander Lukashenko in the course of his meeting with Sergei Stepashin, Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of Russia, reported the Official website president.gov.by.

‘We have always been together and always will be. Therefore the SCC and the Accounts Chamber will have much work to do in the future. And I am sure that the amount of work will be getting even bigger,’ said the President. Alexander Lukashenko denied the rumours manufactured by certain mass media that Belarus was supposedly moving away from Russia.

‘We will never move away from Russia, just like Russia will never leave us,’ said the President of Belarus. ‘Everything that is written about it in the media is complete lie and intentional distortion of facts in every aspect, even the tiniest one, let alone the economic and political relationship between Belarus and Russia,’ he said. ‘It is an antinational lobby which has become more active in Russia and here,’ added the Head of State.

A very good relationship has been established between the SCC and the Accounts Chamber, said the President. The joint oversight by the two agencies of the Union State budget execution has yielded positive results.

‘We have made it a rule for us long ago that the two supervisory agencies of the Union State should watch the execution of the Union State budget. The very first time you stepped in to address the budget execution issues has resulted in improvements in the whole budget execution process. I think that the way the Union State budget money is spent can become an example for any country of how funds should be utilised,’ said Alexander Lukashenko.
