OREANDA-NEWS. On 24 July 2009 was announced, that the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan will sign a USD 56 million worth contract with the Turkish Gap Insaat company for the design and construction of the Eye Diseases Treatment Center in Ashgabat. The contract value also includes fitting out of the hospital with state-of-the-art equipment and training of specialists. The construction is to end by September 2011.

The construction of the Traumatology Center to be carried out by Efor Insaat (Turkey) for the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry in the Turkmen capital is expected to complete by the same time. The contract’s value will total USD 47.2 million. The Center designed for the provision of in-patient treatment and preventive care, will have an office for the production of prosthetic and orthopedic aids.

In addition, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan will buy medical equipment totaling USD 479 thousand by signing contracts with five foreign companies - Hospitalia International GmbH (Germany), OOO Medicom (Russia), Washington Systems LLC (USA), Aymash Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonymous Shirketi (Turkey) and Caniory Corporation LTD (British Virgin Islands).

The purchased equipment will be installed in the Clinic and the Infectious Diseases Department of the hospital of Serdar district that by July 2010 will be reconstructed on the funds donated by Sheikh Rashid Bin Isa Al-Khalifa on behalf of the State of Bahrain. The local private enterprise "Guneshli Meidan” will implement reconstruction works.
