OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2009. In July, current year, the Polyolefins Plant at Nizhnekamskneftekhim INC mastered a new product - linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE). At present, four grades are being produced and used in manufacture of rigid tubular film, regular tubular film, general purpose flat die film, package-inserts and stretch-film, reported the press-centre of Nizhnekamskneftekhim.

Now, they produce a unique LLDPE grade, PE5118Q Grade, making use of such co-monomers as buten-1 and hexene-1. It is intended for manufacture of a high-strength stretch-film, more competitive in comparison with the similar stretch-film manufactured using buten-1 only. Its commercial production will allow to drive imported analogues out of the Russian market.

Since polyethylene production start-up in February, 2009, they successfully mastered production of 10 grades of high density polyethylene (HDPE) including pipe/tube grades on equipment employing Spherilene technology.  A total of 60,000 mt of commercial product have been produced (14 grades of LLDPE and HDPE).
