OREANDA-NEWS. July 28, 2009. The sides focused on the current economic policy of Kazakhstan and exchanged their views on global economy development prospects for 2009 and the following years, reported the Official website government.kz.

Today at the Government’s House, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov met an IMF delegation headed by David Owen, IMF Deputy Director for Middle East and Central Asia.

The sides focused on the current economic policy of Kazakhstan and exchanged their views on global economy development prospects for 2009 and the following years.

IMF representatives noted that the Kazakhstan’s Government had done much to overcome negative impact of the global crisis. According to them, funding of commercial banks and measures to support the real sector taken by the Kazakhstan’s Government have contributed to success.

The sides also dwelt on work of the IMF representation office in Central Asia.

When closing the talks, both Karim Massimov and David Owen expressed confidence in further fruitful cooperation.
