OREANDA-NEWS. On 30 July 2009 CenterTelecom OJSC reported that it has put into operation a 10G Metro Ethernet multi-service data transmission network in the Tver region. Among participants at the opening ceremony were Dmitry Zelenin, the Governor of Tver region, Vaagn Martirosyan, General Director, CenterTelecom, and representatives of Central Telegraph OJSC and corporate clients of CenterTelecom's Tver branch.

The company's network, built on the basis of СХ600 10G routers and S5000 10G switches by Huawei Technologies, links network infrastructure of Tver and other regional centers. Implementation of 10G RPR technology in the construction of the multi-service network in the Tver region allows CenterTelecom to provide high-quality telecommunications services, to improve their quality and to guarantee less downtime for the data transmission network the event of a single malfunction of a node or a channel (not more than 50 milliseconds).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Martirosyan pointed out that the work on development of telecommunications infrastructure in the Tver region was undertaken in line with an agreement concluded by CenterTelecom and Tver Region's Administration providing for interactions in telecommunications network development. He added: "The existence of a modern multi-service network will allow the Tver branch of our company to improve service quality, to offer its customers new complex solutions including IP TV, interactive video services, video monitoring etc, and also to strengthen its positions in the regional telecommunications market."

In the course of the presentation the company demonstrated services provided on the basis of the new multi-service network in the Tver branch including online TV medical sessions, and video conferencing between basic educational organizations of Tver region. CenterTelecom also showed capabilities in IT technologies within the framework of the Federal Program for Traffic Safety and IP TV services.
