OREANDA-NEWS. July 30, 2009. The third international conference Satellite Technology for Railway Transport and exhibition CosmoTrans-2009 was held in the building of Rizhsky Station in Moscow.

The conference was arranged to share Russian and world experience in GLONASS/GPS promotional projects, brand new technologies in safety, intellectual transport monitoring systems.

Along with the development of new technologies of processing, storage, interpretation and use of space data, it has become possible to expand the range and scale of problems solved by means of modern satellite technologies for the benefit of rail transport as well.

The Third International Scientific and Practical Conference Satellite Technology for Rail Transportor was to provide fruitful discussion of the opportunities of satellite technology application, efficient introduction of innovations in transportation.

M2M took part in the forum and shared its experience in introduction of the GLONASS/GPS solutions on the railway transport.

V.Poltoratsky, head of M2M analytics department, told about the remote system for liquid rocket propellant transport vehicles which has been developed by M2M upon the order of Roscosmos and TSENKI Federal Company. The system provides monitoring of the excessive pressure in prop tanks, GLONASS/GPS positioning, visual image of the escort carriage, etc. Mockup of the system (TSENKI property) was also presented at M2M exhibition stand.

Poltoratsky also told about satellite monitoring opportunities for railway transport, such as schedule control of the urban trains, work-hours` monitoring of the personnel involved in the railway transport, etc.

M2M demonstrated its products at the exhibition, including real-time operations of the BusinessNavigator®, brand new user terminals М2М-Cyber GLX and М2М-Cyber GX based on combined GLONASS and GPS signals.
