OREANDA-NEWS. July 29, 2009. The Perm OFAS Russia fined "LUKOIL-Permnefteproduct" Ltd. for breaching the antimonopoly legislation in the regional fuel market. The company violated the law by maintaining monopolistically high prices for petrol and diesel fuel and was fined 51,088,937 Rubles, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

On 10th June 2009, the Commission of the Perm OFAS Russia found that "LUKOIL-Permnefteproduct" Ltd., that has dominant position on the retail market of motor petrol and diesel fuel within the geographic boundaries of the Perm region, violated Clause 1 Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On protection of Competition". In November-December the company maintained monopolistically high prices for motor petrol (grades Ai-80, Аi-92, Аi-95) and diesel fuel in the region.

Under Article 14.31 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Violations, if an economic entity, that has dominant position on the good market, exercises actions classified as abusing dominant position, which are prohibited by the antimonopoly legislation, it is punishable by imposing administrative fines upon legal entities - from one hundredths to fifteen hundredth of the proceeds gained by the violator from selling the goods on the market where the violation was committed.
