OREANDA-NEWS. July 31, 2009. First quarter of 2009 has been good for MTMG - Maritime Bulk Terminal Gdynia, achieved high reloading score that overcame the assumed plan by 1.5%.

- during the first five months of 2009 we reloaded 2% less that was assumed in the plan for this year - underlines Bogdan Buczko, Chairman of MTMG - Maritime Bulk Terminal Gdynia. - however, considering that the second and third quarters are always slower than the rest of the year, we can classify this result as a really good one. Worth indicating is the degree of realization of reloading in coal and coke group, where almost 60% of the plan has been fulfilled. After many years of not being present, the coke intended for export returns to Gdynian bulk terminal - in June two big ships have been handled. Coke will be a regular cargo this year in MTMG - every month at least one big ship is going to be handled. Also the reloading of liquid chemicals is looking good. Sadly, we can see the impact of world crisis also in MTMG. Because of reasons out of our control we were not able to fulfil the plan of reloading of aggregates, which are a basic material for road and railway construction. Under its planned size is also the reloading of liquid fuels, handled by Liquid Fuels Reloading Station, placed near the wavecrusher.

Seeking the possibilities of increasing the quality of services beyond investing in modern equipment, the terminal also pays big attention to constant increase of effectiveness of reloading processes themself. Because of that since July 1, the regulations of truck movement on the area of the terminal is going to change - a new outside parking lot designed for 130 trucks will be introduced. It will allow better discipline of reloading the trucks along with the increase of effectiveness of truck servicing system. Logistics will improve - drivers will inform about their entrence to the terminal directly from the parking lot. Thanks to that, forming of qeues of trucks waiting to be handled, which made the functioning of the terminal harder and was disruptive for company's environment, can be avoided.
