OREANDA-NEWS. August 04, 2009. IC ROSNO has concluded insurance contracts covering civil liability of 690 notaries — members of the Moscow City Notarial Chamber, with the total contractual insurance amount of 350 mln roubles, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

The insurance covers property interests related to the private notary’s risk of incurring liability for any property damage inflicted to any private individual or legal entity applying for notarial actions, and/or to third parties in course of notarial activities.

The insurance coverage applies to cases related to the legally valid court decision and facts of any property damage to any private individual or legal entity due to any actions performed by the private notary in violation of the laws of the Russian Federation, or due to unlawful refusal to perform notarial action as confirmed by a court resolution. Also, the contract covers any damage inflicted by the private notary to third parties as a result of any disclosure of information about the conducted notarial action; or as a result of any errors in, malfunctioning of, or shortcomings in, the computer software; or as a result of insufficient competence of the private notary and (or) his or her employees, as displayed when using the computer software or hardware.

IC ROSNO has also assumed an obligation to pay insurance compensation for all claims arising from errors committed since the commencement of the notary’s operation and filed within the effective period of the insurance contract.
