OREANDA-NEWS. August 06, 2009. Rosatom will take part in the tender for the right to build two reactors in the Czech Republic, Director General of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation said during a press-conference, reported the press-centre of Minatom.

“We have been preparing for this tender for quite a long time and will be able to file all necessary documents in time,” Kiriyenko said. The Czechs informed Rosatom about the tender beforehand and, presently, the Corporation is preparing to arrange necessary documents and to draft its tender offer.

On Aug 3 2009 CEZ announced a tender for the right to build two new reactors of Temelin Nuclear Power Plant. Besides these two reactors the bidders will have to offer CEZ projects to build three more reactors in other European countries.

Last autumn Vice Premier of Russia, Co-Chair of Russian-Czech Inter-Governmental Commission Alexander Zhukov said that Russia was interested in building new nuclear reactors in the Czech Republic, jointly with Czech companies. These projects would be part of Russian-Czech investment cooperation.
