OREANDA-NEWS. On August 06, 2009 children from Kaunas Sea Scout leisure centre pupils’ camp “Marine cadets -3” visited Klaipeda port. The aim of the visit was to introduce children to the specific features of operation of the port services and departments, capacities of the port vessels and the peculiarities of a seaman profession, reported the press-centre of Klaipeda port.
 
SE Klaipeda State Seaport Authority continues the tradition and cooperates with sea scouts from Kaunas Sea Scout leisure centre pupils’ camp “Marine cadets -3”. For the third year in a row the camp participants have been given an opportunity to visit the Port Authority Fleet base, to take part on onshore excursion and to be introduced to the port vessels, available capacities for liquidation of environmental accidents and specific features of hydrographic survey ship.
 
This year 60 children from the camp “Marine cadets -3” visited the Fleet base. They were met by the Head of the Fleet department Vytautas Saulenas who organized the excursion for the guests. The camp participants were mostly interested in the technology used in the vessels, crew work and the peculiarities of a seaman profession.
