OREANDA-NEWS. On August 10, 2009 Belon Group completed its tender for the delivery of the face unit for Chertinskaya-Koksovaya mine mechanical treatment facility organized among Russian and foreign manufacturers, reported the press-centre of Belon Group.

The Group received tender bids from eight companies from Russia, Poland, China, and Germany. The tender was awarded to Zhengzhou Coal Mining Machinery (Group) Co., LTD, China, and KOPEX Company, Poland, which allowed the Group to secure the price for its equipment at almost 30% below the average price of all received tender bids.

In selecting the tender winner, the tender committee looked into the equipment quality and reliability, its lead time and delivery terms, as well as the price. Amid continuing crisis, one of the crucial factors was the supplier’s ability to arrange long-term bank financing for the equipment purchase.

According to preliminary agreements entered into with the both tender winners, the equipment procurement will be financed from the loans extended by foreign banks against the security of governmental export agencies in the manufacturers’ countries. In fact, this means inflow of long-term (5 to 7 years) foreign investments in Kuzbass development.

In January 2010, the tender winners are expected to deliver coal mining equipment for faces 546 and 548.

Zhengzhou Coal Mining Machinery (Group) Co., LTD will construct and deliver powered support units with electrohydraulic drive, slip-preventing units and transversal support units with overall length of 220 meters.

KOPEX will manufacture and deliver to Chertinskaya-Koksovaya mine state-of-the art equipment, including KSW – 460 NE shearer, 223.2 m longwall scraper conveyor RYBNIK-850, GROT-850 reloader with RYFAMA AFC, belt conveyor and SKORPIONS 1800P grinder. Belon Group also entered into a preliminary agreement with the Polish manufacturer for the delivery of high pressure pump unit HAUHINCO for EHP-3K 125/50SM emulsion feed, high pressure pump unit HAUHINCO for face and EHP-3K 125/50 irrigation and electrical equipment.

The Group’s management believes that the new equipment will contribute to the mine’s further sustainable operation in line with its development strategy and will boost the mine performance and safety.
