OREANDA-NEWS. August 11, 2009. The Gov’t will be into large-scale building of elevators in Ukraine. The Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko announced at a briefing in the course of her working trip to Poltava region.

The Head of Government opined at the minimum grain-elevators with general capacity of 10 million tons of grain should be built in Ukraine. According to her, now elevators for 2 million tons of grain are being built, besides, the Gov’t in synergy with Canada and Japan has elaborated a program of building of elevators for 3 million tons that, in their turn, will be given in lease on privileged conditions to national small and average enterprises. According to her, the Government plans to erect granaries with general capacity of 3 million tons annually.

At this, the Prime Minister emphasized the Gov’t counted on building of small and average elevators which will be located not far from fields and will have capacity to store up to 10 thousand tons of grain. According to her, big elevators are intended for productive capacities of huge agrarian corporations-owners of these elevators but there exist a lot of “average enterprises” – farmer’s economies and agricultural enterprises and “we cannot leave them without assistance, that’s why the Government will always be where its assistance is needed most”.

Yulia Tymoshenko empowered the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the Ministry of Economics, the Ministry of Communications and Transport to devise a resolution on simplification of a procedure of building of elevators in Ukraine. She explained, it is necessary to make a register of all references and permits and analyze each of them. Besides, the Premier commissioned to develop a program of cheap credits for building of elevators.
